A Page Out Of The Cool Dad's Book - DeMar DeRozan

Another dad cooler than me.

If you're not familiar with who DeMar DeRozan is, he's been part of the Toronto Raptors since his rookie season back in 2009. Raptors fans like myself have watched him grow from a young kid from Compton to a two-time NBA All-Star leading the Toronto Raptors to one of its best seasons to date. He recently passed Vince Carter on the Raptors all-time scoring list and sits in second place to Chris Bosh.

As his game has matured on the court, he's also grown into a family man with the addition of his baby daughter, Diar a couple years back.

He was recently interviewed in the Bay St. Bull and gave a little insight into his Dad life as an NBA player.

The way I stay grounded and the way I get away from basketball is my daughter. She keeps me grounded. It’s teaching her the rights and wrongs of life. She helps me get away from basketball. She doesn’t care if I have a great game, all she’s worried about is if she has Play-Doh in her playroom. It’s just small things like that that make me happy. To stay up and watch cartoons with her or read a book to her, that’s the most joyful thing to me outside of basketball.
Take a peek at an episode of Open Gym when his young daughter was born back in 2013 (the 2:25 mark)
And a couple years later, DeMar is still having fun being a dad (skip to the 3:10 mark).
DeMar DeRozan, another dad that's cooler than me.
